Fayette Academy Ecology Club
The Fayette Academy Ecology Club presented a case of energy-saving compact florescent light bulbs to Fayette Cares for the new Hope House, which will soon provide support for battered and abused women and their families. The light bulbs will save Fayette Cares 75% of the energy cost to light Hope House and will reduce CO2 emissions by 30,000 lbs. a year! Earlier this month, the club wrapped 350 CFL bulbs in used chip bags (collected during lunch and turned inside-out), placed an information label on the outside, and included them in food baskets. They also won first place for their "Lighting the Future" float in their town's Christmas Parade.
